Bland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Detroit Eagles. One positive for the Tigers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Max Rodriguez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Thomas, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-2.
Even though they lost, Bland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .719. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Bland's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Detroit, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
