Great Oak came into Wednesday's   matchup having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with  a   4-1  victory over the Bonita Bearcats  on Wednesday. That's more bragging rights for the Wolfpack, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
 Reagan Ricken was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in two of his four plate appearances. That's the most  runs  he has posted since back in April of 2024.
 Ricken wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Gavin Fien, who  scored a  run while going 3-for-4.
Great Oak's record now sits at 2-8. As for Bonita, their record is now 8-6.
 Great Oak and Bonita could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage  in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Wolfpack (ranked 446th) will meet Paloma Valley (ranked 188th)  at 3:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Meanwhile,  Bonita will  take on  Norco  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday with a big rank  disadvantage  (198 vs. 24).
