Baseball Recap: Ansonia Takes a Loss

Ansonia lost against Newton Local back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Tigers lost 14-1 to the Indians. The Tigers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Jacob McNutt was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

Ansonia's record now sits at 5-12. As for Newton Local, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 13-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ansonia will host Milton-Union at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Newton Local, they will square off against Troy Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
