Highlands proved they can win big last Monday (they won by eight) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Cherokee Braves 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Highlanders also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Aislynn Wyatt-Luck and Gabriela Diaz Martinez scored all three of Highlands' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 20 goals.

Highlands' win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Cherokee, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Highlands will challenge Smoky Mountain at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cherokee, they will face off against Blue Ridge Early College at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
