Basketball Recap: First Baptist Takes a Loss

After flying high against Fourth Baptist Christian last Tuesday, First Baptist came back down to earth. The First Baptist Crusaders fell to Community Christian 57-52. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Crusaders, who until this matchup were averaging 27.84 points allowed.

Despite the loss, First Baptist still got an impressive performance from Lydia Wynja, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, Wynja is now averaging an impressive 2.1 blocks per game. Jada McKinney was another key player, putting up 12 points along with five assists and three steals.

First Baptist's defeat dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Community Christian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Looking ahead, First Baptist won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Immanuel Lutheran at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. First Baptist has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Community Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
