Baseball Recap: Babcock Find Success

On Tuesday, everything went the Babcock Trailblazers's way against the Sarasota Military Academy Eagles as the Babcock Trailblazers made off with a 15-3 victory.

Anthony Brand was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). Brand was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Paxton Cooper, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Cooper is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stolen at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Carter Flavelle, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Babcock's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Sarasota Military Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Babcock has already played their next game, a 15-8 victory against East Lee County on the 21st. As for Sarasota Military Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 6-5 loss against Southeast on the 20th.
