Basketball Recap: Northeast Metro RVT Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Northeast Metro RVT unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 77-65 to the Academy of Notre Dame Lancers on Tuesday. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lancers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jeanahel Exilus, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. Those 16 points gave Exilus a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bobby Connolly, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 17 boards.

The victory made it two in a row for Academy of Notre Dame and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northeast Metro RVT and Notre Dame Cristo Rey will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Academy of Notre Dame, they will host Minuteman Regional at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
