Baseball Game Preview: White Knoll Timberwolves vs. West Florence Knights

The White Knoll Timberwolves will venture away from home to face off against the West Florence Knights at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

White Knoll took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Batesburg-Leesville.

White Knoll's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Dillon Woods, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, West Florence put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 5-2 win over Lugoff-Elgin.

West Florence's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for White Knoll, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

White Knoll took their victory against West Florence in their previous meeting back in May of 2016 by a conclusive 8-0. Will White Knoll repeat their success, or does West Florence have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
