Preview: Lansingburgh Knights vs. Queensbury Spartans

After two games on the road, Lansingburgh is heading back home. They will take on The Queensbury Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Saturday, Lansingburgh suffered a tough 51-28 loss at the hands of Mechanicville/Hoosic Valley.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Israel Baker, who rushed for 16 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 146 yards and a touchdown on only 12 passes.

Meanwhile, Queensbury took a serious blow against Bethlehem Central on Friday, falling 47-13. Queensbury was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-6.

Although Queensbury took the loss, they still got scores from Ian Reynolds and Zavry Ward.

Lansingburgh's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 5-3. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.0 points per game. As for Queensbury, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-4.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Lansingburgh has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 186.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Queensbury struggles in that department as they've been even better at 253.2 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
