Baseball Recap: Leflore County Comes Up Short

The matchup between Leflore County and North Side on Tuesday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Tigers came up short against the Gators, falling 14-6. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Gators recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Leflore County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Markese Jones, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-4. Bravian Askew was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Leflore County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for North Side, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-3.

Looking ahead, North Side will host Leland at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Leflore County will be paying especially close attention to the Gators' match: after the Gators faces off against Edwards, they'll take on Leflore County again at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
