Preview: Lewis County Minutemen vs. Preston Knights
Lewis County has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Preston Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lewis County will be strutting in after a victory while Preston will be coming in after a defeat.
After only two runs in their last matchup, Lewis County made sure to put some runs up on the board against Liberty on Wednesday. Lewis County came out on top against Liberty by a score of 10-6.
Brayden Carder made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Carder was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, Trenton Hunt was incredible, going 3-for-4 with a triple, a run, and a double. Drew Cayton was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Preston kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of Elkins by a score of 4-2.
