Softball Recap: Sherman Wins Going Away Against Van

While Sherman put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Van. The Tide put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 15-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Tide in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won seven in a row.

Savannah Drake was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted over her last seven games. Audrina Smith was another key player, firing off three triples while going 4-for-2.

Sherman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .763. They are 8-2 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Sherman's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-8. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Van, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-20.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Sherman beat the Bulldogs by a score of 7-1 later that day.
