Volleyball Recap: Madison Takes a Loss

Madison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the La Vernia Bears. The Mavericks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bears from their previous meeting back in August of 2022.

Deylen Mendivil paced Madison's offense, picking up eight kills. Mendivil got some help from Cyani Ingram and her eight assists. Kyleigh Shaw controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Madison now has a losing record of 11-12. As for La Vernia, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That somehow still isn't as good as their 17-5 record this season.

Madison is on the road again on Friday to play Johnson at 1:00 p.m. As for La Vernia, they will challenge Randolph at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
