The Manitowoc Lutheran Lancers are taking a road trip to square off against the Roncalli Jets at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Manitowoc Lutheran is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah hit Manitowoc Lutheran with a six-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lancers took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Resorters. The contest marked the Lancers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Manitowoc Lutheran saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Haupt, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Roncalli, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over Brillion on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Jets have posted since May 9, 2024.

Ryan Cole was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three runs. Victor Anzia also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

With the loss, Manitowoc Lutheran broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-3. As for Roncalli, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Roncalli's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Manitowoc Lutheran hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. It's a different story for Roncalli, though, as they've only averaged .230. Will they be able to contain Manitowoc Lutheran's hitters?

Manitowoc Lutheran took their victory against Roncalli in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
