Basketball Recap: Fall Mountain's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

If Fall Mountain was riding high fresh off their 75-27 takedown of Hillsboro-Deering last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fall Mountain Wildcats fell 61-52 to the Mascoma Royals on Friday. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Fall Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Mascoma, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Fall Mountain Wildcats challenge the Stevens Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fall Mountain is facing Stevens at the right time seeing as Stevens is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Mascoma, they will square off against Hopkinton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mascoma knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Hopkinton likes a good challenge.
