Soccer Game Preview: Forney vs. Wylie East

Forney is 0-6-1 against Wylie East since April of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. Forney will square off against Wylie East at 6:30 p.m. Forney will be looking to extend their current 21-game winning streak.

Forney is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Tomball a 2-0 shutout. Given Forney's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 12th, while Tomball are ranked 64th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Annabelle Vasquez and Kyleigh Johnson scored both of Forney's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 18 goals.

Meanwhile, Wylie East had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.6 goals) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Bulldogs.

Forney pushed their record up to 22-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those ten matchups. As for Wylie East, their win bumped their record up to 19-2-1.
