Softball Recap: Renaissance Academy Knights vs. Faith Christian Academy Lions
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Renaissance Academy and Faith Christian Academy had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Knights fell 8-4 to the Lions on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-1 back in March.

Gabby Anderoni was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She pitched seven innings while giving up four earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. What's more, she gave up only four walks, the fewest she's had since back in March. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played.
In other batting news, Allison Sautner was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Payton Romano was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Renaissance Academy now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Faith Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season.
Renaissance Academy will look to defend their home field on Monday against Calvary Christian Academy at 3:45 p.m. As for Faith Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Bristol at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
