Basketball Recap: WestSide Renegades vs. Mingo Central Miners
WestSide waltzed into their match on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Mingo Central Miners 70-42. The Renegades pushed the score to 51-30 by the end of the third, a deficit the Miners had little chance of recovering from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead WestSide to victory, but perhaps none more so than Austin Bishop, who went 8-for-19 to rack up 22 points and five boards. Bishop's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Kadien Vance, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds.
WestSide smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2024.
WestSide's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points over those games. As for Mingo Central, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.
Coming up, WestSide will take on Martinsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. WestSide knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Martinsburg likes a good challenge.
