Baseball Recap: San Juan Extends Road Winning Streak to Ten

San Juan had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the North Summit Braves. The Broncos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Jake Ivins made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Brody Bilbao and Corbin Middlton did most of the damage at the plate: Bilbao went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI, while Middlton went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Cooper Palmer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

San Juan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

San Juan pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for North Summit, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: San Juan beat the Braves by a score of 11-1 later that day.
