It was a good run, but Jefferson Davis Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to Holly Hill Academy. Jefferson Davis Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Holly Hill Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Holly Hill Academy scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-17, 25-22.

Jefferson Davis Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was ABBY DEERING, who had 11 digs and five kills. She is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last five games she's played. RYNN FICKLING was another key player, getting ten digs and seven kills.

Jefferson Davis Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Holly Hill Academy, they pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Jefferson Davis Academy will head out to square off against South Aiken Baptist Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Holly Hill Academy, they will challenge Orangeburg Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
