Basketball Game Preview: Bowie Jackrabbits vs. Bellevue Eagles

The Bowie Jackrabbits just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Bellevue Eagles at 1:15 p.m. on Friday. Bowie will be strutting in after a win while Bellevue will be coming in after a loss.

Bowie will head into Thursday's matchup hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 20) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged Gordon out 45-42. Given the Jackrabbits' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while the Longhorns are ranked 594th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Bellevue was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell just short of Jacksboro by a score of 45-43. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 15-8 in the first quarter.

Bellevue's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Bowie, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Bowie didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Bellevue in their previous meeting back in November, but they still walked away with a 44-40 victory. Will Bowie repeat their success, or does Bellevue have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
