Baseball Recap: Reading Blue Devils vs. Indian Hill Braves
Reading extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 7-17. They fell 8-3 to the Indian Hill Braves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Braves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Friday.
Reading saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Thamann, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
As for Indian Hill, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games.
On Indian Hill's side, they got a great performance from Noah Coffman as he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts Coffman has posted since back in May of 2025.
On the hitting side, Derek Zee was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andrew Copfer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Reading will challenge Taylor at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Indian Hill, they will take on Milford at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
