Softball Recap: Ezekiel Academy Takes a Loss

If Ezekiel Academy was riding high fresh off their 20-0 takedown of Southern Christian on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights fell just short of the Evangel Christian Lightning by a score of 7-5 on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Lightning this season, with their most recent loss being a 4-3 defeat on Friday.

Sarah Vick put in work while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off ten hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

Vick wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Rebecca Vick, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Ezekiel Academy's record now sits at 31-8. As for Evangel Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Ezekiel Academy nor Evangel Christian have any future games scheduled.
