Football Recap: Wright City Takes a Loss + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wright City can now relate to. They were outmatched by the St. Francis Borgia Knights and fell 45-14.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaveon Schulte, who picked up 135 receiving yards and one TD. Schulte really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 73 yards. Dayton Humphreys was another key player, having thrown for 253 yards and two touchdowns.

Lane Mallinckrodt was his usual excellent self, throwing for 202 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes for St. Francis Borgia. The dominant performance also gave Mallinckrodt a new career-high in passer rating (159.2).

Wright City has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season. As for St. Francis Borgia, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Wright City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Francis Borgia, they will face off against St. Clair at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
