Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Ripon Christian's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Ripon Christian walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Millennium Falcons with a sharp 9-3 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Mateo Ceja spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Jordan Luisi was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Ripon Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-10 when he doesn't). Talen Tameling was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs.

Ripon Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Millennium, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

Coming up, Ripon Christian will square off against Colfax at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Millennium does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
