Volleyball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Newark's Tenth in Last 12 Outings

While Newark's victory against Logan wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Chieftains 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since August 26, 2024.

The win didn't come easy: Logan scored at least ten points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-28, 25-19, 25-20, 23-25, 15-10.

Makayla Meister paced Newark's offense, picking up 25 kills. Meister got some help from Peyton Sherman and her 61 assists. Sherman also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Emma Morgan, racking up two apiece.

Newark is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Logan, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-5 record.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Newark will challenge rival Canal Winchester at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Logan is set to face off against their familiar foe Reynoldsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
