Softball Game Preview: Poplar Springs Atomics vs. Rutherford Rams

The Poplar Springs Atomics will take on the Rutherford Rams at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Poplar Springs has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 6.

Poplar Springs came up short against Bethlehem on Thursday, falling 22-2.

Jada Bollon was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing four bases while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Rutherford brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They came out on top against Rocky Bayou Christian by a score of 12-7 on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Rams as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Rutherford's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Poplar Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.

Poplar Springs took their victory against Rutherford in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 23-8 score. Will the Atomics repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
