Central Christian finds playoff glory versus Lafayette Christian

Recap: Central Christian Crusaders vs. Lafayette Christian Cougars

With a playoff game on the line, the Central Christian Crusaders rose to the challenge on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 45-27 win over the Cougars. The score was all tied up 15-15 at the break, but Central Christian was the (much) better team in the second half.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sarah Passow, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Passow has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Riley Clark, who scored 13 points along with four steals.

Despite the loss, Lafayette Christian still got an impressive performance from Carmen Bridges, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 59.3% of Lafayette Christian's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Lafayette Christian struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Central Christian racked up nine assists.

Central Christian's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Lafayette Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.

Central Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lafayette Christian, they will square off against Trinity Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Prep is coming into the contest with three straight defeats on the road, meaning Lafayette Christian will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
