It may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Independence ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Stone Bridge Bulldogs. Surprisingly, this marked Independence's fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Independence now has a winning record of 6-5-2. As for Stone Bridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Independence is set to challenge their familiar foe Riverside at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Stone Bridge will square off against rival Briar Woods at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
