Volleyball Recap: South El Monte Starts Season with Victory Against Covina

South El Monte gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Covina Colts.

While South El Monte might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Covina scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 13-25, 26-24, 25-19.

Covina's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, South El Monte is headed away from home for the first time to take on Garey at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Covina, they will head out on the road to face off against Damien at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
