Basketball Game Preview: Campbell County Camels vs. Central Indians

The Campbell County Camels are taking a road trip to take on the Central Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Campbell County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games.

Campbell County is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Wyoming's top teams: Sheridan, who was ranked fourth at the time (Campbell County was ranked fifth). Campbell County managed a 65-61 win over Sheridan on Friday. 65 seems to be a good number for the Camels as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Campbell County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Andela, who went 8 of 13 en route to 21 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Hladky, who posted 15 points along with seven assists and six boards.

Campbell County was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They blew past South 64-28 on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Indians as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Campbell County's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-7. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.7 points per game. As for Central, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 6-11.

Everything came up roses for Campbell County against Central in their previous matchup back in January, as the team secured an 81-50 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Campbell County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
