Basketball Recap: Whitfield Takes a Loss

Whitfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt a 49-17 loss at the hands of the Burroughs Bombers. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Burroughs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Moriyah Douglass, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was Douglass' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Breaunna Ward, who posted eight points in addition to nine boards and seven assists.

Whitfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Burroughs, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Whitfield will welcome Lutheran North at 7:00 p.m. on February 4th. As for Burroughs, they will head out on the road to challenge Westminster Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
