It's playoff time, and Temecula Valley had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the St. Paul Swordsmen on Thursday, sneaking past  4-3. The  victory was familiar territory for the Golden Bears, who have now won four  games in a row.
 Chase Hilt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching 5.1 innings while giving up  three earned runs off   seven  hits. Hilt was also solid in the batter's box,  getting on base  in four of his six plate appearances with one  double and one  RBI.
 Temecula Valley  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 15  hits. That's the most  hits they've posted since back in April.
Temecula Valley's win was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 17-11. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.5 runs across that stretch. As for St. Paul, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-10 record  this season.
 Temecula Valley will challenge Great Oak at 3:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. St. Paul does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
