Basketball Game Preview: Manual Thunderbolts vs. Northfield Nighthawks

The Manual Thunderbolts will head out on the road to face off against the Northfield Nighthawks at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Manual is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.

Last Friday, Manual took their contest with ease, bagging a 62-23 victory over DSST: Conservatory Green. The Thunderbolts have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 29 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Northfield hadn't done well against Denver East recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Northfield blew past Denver East 73-45. 73 seems to be a good number for the Nighthawks as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Manual pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.1 points over those games. As for Northfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Manual was taken down by Northfield 64-26 in their previous matchup back in December of 2019. Thankfully for Manual, Giavonna Meeks (who dropped a double-double with 22 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
