Baseball Recap: Monterey Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

St. Francis typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Monterey proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Sharks by a score of 4-1. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 12-10 victory back in March.

Monterey's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Connor Rose, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Rose has posted since back in March. Evan Takehara was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Monterey's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-14. As for St. Francis, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Looking ahead, Monterey will take on Carmel at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Dores' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Padres have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for St. Francis, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-1 win against Soledad on the 1st.
