West Mecklenburg's tournament run continued when they took on Berry on Tuesday. The Hawks fell 13-9 to the Cardinals.

West Mecklenburg saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emilio Garcia, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Mallard Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-2 to Charlotte Latin, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Lenton Williams put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Williams was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

In other batting news, Maximus Miller made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one double. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

West Mecklenburg's record now sits at 13-6. As for Mallard Creek, their record is now 5-14.

West Mecklenburg suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Mallard Creek in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
