Dwight Morrow snaps five-game streak of wins on the road

Recap: Dwight Morrow Maroon Raiders vs. Cliffside Park Raiders

The Dwight Morrow Maroon Raiders pushed their score all the way to 57 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 66-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cliffside Park. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Dwight Morrow of the 68-59 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture on January 4th.

Cliffside Park's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamil Gonzalez, who scored 13 points along with five assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Jerelz Ortiz, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds.

Dwight Morrow's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-7. As for Cliffside Park, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.

Dwight Morrow is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. As for Cliffside Park, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bridgemen at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fort Lee will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 297th, while the Raiders are ranked 131st).
