After a string of three wins, Lapwai's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 55-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Prairie Pirates. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Skylin Picard, who posted ten points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Madden Bisbee, who scored 11 points and five boards.

Lapwai's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 11-2. As for Prairie, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.

Lapwai didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-27 win against Potlatch on the 18th. Prairie has also already played their next match, a 74-34 victory against Kendrick on the 18th.
