Softball Game Preview: Fort Mill Yellow Jackets vs. Cuthbertson Cavaliers

The Fort Mill Yellow Jackets will head out on the road to face off against the Cuthbertson Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fort Mill has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 21.

On Tuesday, Fort Mill came up short against Clover and fell 9-5.

Elaina Hildebrand spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and five unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Mary Dober was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Those runs were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Razum, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Cuthbertson faced Marvin Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Cavaliers fell 6-2 to the Mavericks. The Cavaliers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Grace Murray made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and one double.

Fort Mill's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Cuthbertson, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-4.
