Soccer Game Preview: Helias vs. Hickman

The Helias Crusaders will head out on the road to square off against the Hickman Kewpies at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Helias is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Pleasant Hill just ended the team's nine-match winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Roosters. Considering the last time Helias couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Meanwhile, Hickman kept a clean sheet against Rolla on Sunday. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 5-0 victory. That's two games straight that Hickman have won by exactly five goals.

The win made it two in a row for Hickman and bumps their season record up to 9-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those two matchups. As for Helias, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-5.

Helias got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 against Hickman by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crusaders since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
