Basketball Recap: Sabine Pass Comes Up Short

Sabine Pass played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Evadale Rebels and fell 70-36. The defeat continues a trend for the Sharks in their matchups with the Rebels: they've now lost nine in a row.

Sabine Pass lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kelvion Harris, who posted six points and eight boards. Noah Fuselier also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Evadale had a senior duo take command as Warren Brewer dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds and Talon Bennett went 5 of 9 on his way to 13 points in addition to six boards and four steals. With that strong performance, Brewer is now averaging an impressive 2 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Devin Terrell, who had eight points and three steals.

Sabine Pass' loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-13. As for Evadale, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 24-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sabine Pass will face off against Deweyville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sabine Pass is facing Deweyville at the right time seeing as Deweyville is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Evadale, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Big Sandy at 7:30 p.m. Evadale is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.4 points per game this season.
