Football Game Preview: Martinsburg Bulldogs vs. University Hawks + Official Tickets

The Martinsburg Bulldogs will challenge the University Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Martinsburg's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last ten matchups.

Martinsburg is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 55-35 margin over Wheeling Park. The Bulldogs pushed the score to 47-21 by the end of the third, a deficit the Patriots cut but never quite recovered from.

Martinsburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Boston Todd led the charge by rushing for 69 yards and a pair of TDs, while also picking up 32 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Brian Dick, who rushed for 91 yards and two scores on only nine carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Martinsburg was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 296 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 189 rushing yards in 11 consecutive games.

Meanwhile, University faced Huntington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Hawks walked away with a 35-28 win over the Highlanders. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Martinsburg better keep an eye on Harrison Helbig. He was instrumental in University's win, throwing for 161 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes.

Martinsburg's record is now 10-2. As for University, their record now sits at 9-3.
