Softball Recap: Elkhart Comes Up Short

Elkhart suffered their closest loss since February 24, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the Buffalo Bison by a score of 8-6. The Elks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bison apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Ella Lively made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Marisa Denny, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Elkhart and nudges their season record down to 11-5. As for Buffalo, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-10.

Coincidentally, Elkhart and Buffalo will both be playing Groesbeck the next time they take the field. Buffalo will head out to face Groesbeck at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Elkhart will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
