Softball Recap: Parkway Comes Up Short

Parkway suffered their closest defeat since March 18, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Captain Shreve Gators by a score of 9-7. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gators apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Parkway has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. Captain Shreve's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 13-10.

Looking ahead, Parkway is taking a road trip to take on Haughton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Parkway's pitchers better be ready for this one: Haughton has averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Captain Shreve, they will welcome Florien at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Considering Captain Shreve has lost four straight at home and Florien four straight on the road, this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.
