Softball Recap: Eastern Tech Mavericks vs. Hereford Bulls

Eastern Tech had lost three straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 4-7 to make it four. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hereford Bulls. The Mavericks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulls apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

As for Hereford, the win got them back to even at 4-4. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the contest before.

For Hereford's part, Hayley Dyer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Dyer.

On the hitting side, Hereford got a massive performance out of Cammi Broy, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Kristin McCaffrey, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Looking ahead, Eastern Tech will be playing at home against Dulaney at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hereford, they will square off against Towson on Friday.
