James Brown III leads a balanced attack to beat Thomas Jefferson

Recap: Vista PEAK Prep Bison vs. Thomas Jefferson Spartans

In what's become a running theme this season, the Vista PEAK Prep Bison gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 71-46 margin over Thomas Jefferson. Given Vista PEAK Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Thomas Jefferson is ranked 71st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Vista PEAK Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was James Brown III, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Brown III is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Alante Monroe-Elazier was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was William Perkins, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Doren Sacha, who scored 11 points.

Vista PEAK Prep has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Thomas Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vista PEAK Prep will take on Denver South at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Denver South will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Vista PEAK Prep surely won't give up without a fight. As for Thomas Jefferson, they will be playing at home against Denver East at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Thomas Jefferson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday.
