Basketball Recap: Mesquite Comes Up Short

Mesquite was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 57-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Skyline Raiders. That's two games in a row now that the Skeeters have lost by exactly eight points.

Mesquite's record now sits at 9-16. As for Skyline, their win ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-19.

Mesquite and Skyline could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Mesquite (ranked 421st) will meet Lancaster (ranked 11th) at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Skyline will challenge Waxahachie at 8:00 p.m. on Friday down 431 places (522 vs. 91).
