Softball Recap: Huntley Takes a Loss

Huntley has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.3 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They came up short against the Marist RedHawks, falling 11-1. The Red Raiders have struggled against the RedHawks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Huntley's defeat dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Marist, the win (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 24-1.

Huntley and Marist should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Red Raiders (ranked 38th) will meet Leyden (ranked 266th) at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Marist will challenge Fenwick at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (2 vs. 59).
