Basketball Recap: Nonnewaug Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Nonnewaug entered their matchup against Thomaston on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Nonnewaug Chiefs fell just short of the Thomaston Bears by a score of 79-76. The Chiefs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Nonnewaug's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2. As for Thomaston, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nonnewaug will take on Waterbury Career Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Thomaston has already played their next game (against Housatonic-Lakeview), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
