Boylan Catholic will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Belvidere North extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Blue Thunder were the clear victors by a 21-2 margin over Rockford Auburn. The Blue Thunder's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Ava Morris made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Morris was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last four games.

In other batting news, Belvidere North got a massive performance out of Jenna Yakey, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. That's the most runs Yakey has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Johnson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs and one triple.
Belvidere North hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Boylan Catholic can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Rockford East a 21-0 shutout. With that victory, the Titans brought their scoring average up to 7.3 runs per game.
Ari Ousley and Dez Moore made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Ousley pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Moore pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Ousley went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple, while Moore went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That triple was Ousley's first of the season.
In other batting news, Sophia Banks was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Maddy Kiley was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Belvidere North's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-8. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Boylan Catholic, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-6.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Belvidere North hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .330. However, it's not like Boylan Catholic struggles in that department as they've averaged .319. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
